Senggigi Beach Lombok

Senggigi Beach Lombok is the main tourist strip of the Indonesian island of Lombok, stretched out along the several kilometers of the beachfront, just to the north of the capital Mataram. The site of a building frenzy in the late 1990s when Lombok was hyped to be the next Bali, the communal violence of 2000 and the 2002 Bali bombing dealt Senggigi a severe blow, with tourist numbers declining precipitously and many construction projects halted.
 A perfect place to relax, Senggigi beach boasts a series of white sandy beaches and safe swimming areas. Located on the western coast of Lombok, Senggigi over the years has become the oldest and most popular tourist area of Lombok, presenting a diverse range of hotel accommodations, from deluxe four-star resort properties to simple home-stays. As well, restaurants, cafes, entertainment venues can all be found along the main Senggigi road and on certain areas along the beach. 

Senggigi Beach has good waves for surfer. This place also ideal for swimming snorkeling and other popular water activities and has a colourful reef which provides shelter to a variety of marine life and exquisitely shapped coral and makes it a perfect place to snorkle, also. Its impressive hillsides provide a dramatic backdrop and breathtaking scenic road trips along the coast to the north.

In the dry season, there is an interesting variety of boats moored in the bay. The town of Senggigi spreads out along nearly 10 kilometers of coastal road. This road continues north to Bangsal, the port for the Gili Islands.

Along the way, a fantastic scenery of the north west coast of Lombok awaits. Most travelers start or end their stay at Senggigi because of the easy access to Mataram Airport and accommodations options are available to all budgets. Visitors

There are 3 main ways most people get to Senggigi. First, of course,The first is by flying into the airport at Mataram. Second, by taking the ferrry from Bali, arriving at the port of Lember, and driving up the coast. Cars and motorbikes are allowed on the ferry and there is bus operator serve to Senggigi. And then, third, by boat from Benoa Harbor,via the port at Teluk Nara, to the north of Senggigi. 

Senggigi Beach Lombok is the most developed area for tourists on Lombok. You can find a variety of restaurants, bars, discotheques, travel agents, photo processors, money changers, souvenir shop and a range of accommodations starting from budget guest house to 5 star hotels. Restaurants and small cafes line the colorful main beach road. Swimming off the beach is safe.
