Tangkuban Perahu Creater

This mountain is 2084 m above sea level and located 30 km north of Bandung.
It is one of the most chosen tourism objects which offer the charm of nature far away from the crowded city. Tangkuban Perahu offers you a mystery with its wide spread craters.
Tangkuban Perahu has several craters, the most popular are Ratu crater, Domas crater, Upas crater and Baru crater. When you visit mount Tangkuban Perahu, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of nature’s wonders like pine trees and the volcanic process.
The form of Tangkuban Perahu looks like an upside down boat, and is believed to have a connection with the legend of Sangkuriang, as one of the fairytale from Sunda. Mount Tangkuban Perahu now provides several alternatives of tourism such as nature tourism, education tourism, adventure tourism and outdoor training.

The Ratu Crater is part of a volcanic mountain called Tangkuban Perahu. It produce sulfurous vapors, sometime poisonous gas so it's too dangerous to go near the crater.The name of the mountain itself has an unique meaning referring to the shape of the mountain seen from far away. Tangkuban means upside down, while perahu means boat. Indeed the vulcan looks like an upside down boat.
